From Tree to Table: All About Timber w/ David

Asmbly Makerspace is pleased to host David Fells of Fells Hardwood Supply for a Free special workshop that takes woodworkers deep into the full lifecycle of lumber. This class explores how timber is harvested, dried, milled, sold, and transformed into the boards we rely on in the shop.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between grabbing pre‑dimensioned stock at a big box store and confidently navigating a commercial hardwood dealer. Hardwood is not like buying a 2x4; it is an organic, unpredictable material. By the end of this session, you will know exactly what you are looking at, what it is called, how it behaves on your tools, and what you are truly paying for.
