Asmbly is Austin's largest nonprofit makerspace.  Our mission is to enrich Austin’s maker community.  We offer a wide range of tools and shop spaces in various disciplines.

For many, the desire to create and explore different mediums has a high barrier to entry.  Tools can be expensive and having enough space for them can be even more expensive. Asmbly provides access to tools and educational opportunities in an inviting, member-focused setting.

As an educational nonprofit, we offer training to both our members and the community at large.  We offer classes from introductory woodworking to welding, laser cutting, 3D printing and more. The greatest thing about Asmbly is the strong community. Asmbly is full of curious people from all walks of life interested in learning new skills together. With the resources provided by Asmbly, many members have been able to launch new careers starting their own businesses.

We aspire to expand the disciplines offered at Asmbly, but want to be sure we do it right.  We would love to offer jewelry making and ceramics in the future. Expanding into a larger space will be necessary for us to do so.  Until then, we will be working to improve our current offerings.  Right now we are fundraising for new tools and space improvements. Among these improvements include a dedicated space for sewing and leatherwork.

Last year we hired part-time staff to help manage our growing operations, however we are still primarily run through the efforts of dedicated volunteers.  Each member plays a part in helping the space to flourish.

Thank you for donating to Asmbly Makerspace to help keep the creative community in Austin alive!
