Description

In this class, students will acquire essential skills using the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process. The curriculum covers proper electrode manipulation, gas flow control, and heat management to achieve strong and aesthetically pleasing welds. Students can expect to gain proficiency in welding various steel thicknesses and developing the precision needed for intricate welding projects.

Dress: natural fiber long (cotton, linen, or wool) pants, natural fiber shirt, and closed toed shoes

Optional:  If you want your own TIG consumables, you can buy the parts for “17 Series torch”. Most welding gas supply shops carry it, Amazon and Cyberweld.com. I would get 2% thoriated or purple tops 1/16" or 3/32" diameter tungsten rod. Get ER70S- steel fill rod in 1/16" size
