Summary

This 3 hr class covers the more advanced process of AC TIG welding aluminum. It is recommended to take Intro to TIG Welding Steel class first. Students will learn proper equipment setup, joint preparation, and safety considerations specific to aluminum welding. Must wear natural fiber long pants, natural fiber shirt, and closed toe shoes (natural fiber being cotton or wool).

Description

Required dress: Natural fiber long pants, natural fiber shirt, (natural fiber being cotton or wool) and closed toe shoes.

Optional:  If you want your own TIG consumables, you can buy the parts for “17 series torch”. Most welding gas supply shops carry it, Amazon and Cyberweld.com. Preferrably 2% lanthanated (blue top) 1/16" or 3/32" diameter tungsten rod. Get ER4043 aluminum filler rod in 1/16"- 1/8"size.
